I'm Sharon Kazan
As a Senior Executive, Innovator, and Winemaker/Owner, I have hosted thousands of wine tastings. My success comes from my people skills, work-ethic, and ability to connect with others and wine has been one of my major means of connection. I love nothing more than to teach people how to enjoy wine whether that be learning how to sniff and swirl or simply identify a grape.
I first fell in love with wine in my junior year abroad in France where I spent a year at the Université de Bordeaux and mid-career later went back to study wine. In 2005 I started my own winery- RARECAT Wines in the Napa Valley and produce ultra-premium, limited production wines in four best-in-class regions: Napa Valley, Champagne, Bordeaux and Russian River.
I was nominated as one of Worth Magazine’s ’29 Most Groundbreaking Women Changing the World’ in 2019 and ‘Nine Women Who Changed the Wine World’ in 2022. I have participated in five start-ups, founded three of them, yet nothing brings me more joy than sharing my knowledge of wine with others, even better if it's over a bottle of wine.
